Among many primate species, facial expressions, gestural communication and vocalizations can be used to communicate information among members of a troop that can increase the fitness of a collective group. In the documentary, “Clever Monkeys”, one important features that repeats throughout the film is the inherent communication abilities that nonhuman primates have.nnBefore you view “Clever Monkeys” make sure read Primate Socialbehavior Notes and the textbook (Larsen, Ch 7).nnYour task will be to view how nonhuman primates communicate and understand how communication can increase fitness among social primate groups.n
