How you will be an ally when witnessing a micro aggression.

In 2-4 full paragraphs, write about how you will be an ally when witnessing a micro aggression. Use the assigned article as a guideline, and include a quote or example to prove to me that you read the article and are incorporating it. Please let me know if you have any questions. I want to be clear that we CANNOT always be allies nor is it safe. So choose your situations carefully. Imagine whatever scene you need to in order to make this assignment meaningful and valid. First, choose a micro aggression that you are NOT a part of, meaning if you are gay/Mexican/female,black do NOT choose to address someone’s comments aimed towards you or someone from your group. You are an ally in this exercise. Second, choose a location and/or age group where your voice has power. For me, I address micro aggressions in the classroom but I do not address them with my own family because my voice has power and me being a teacher requires that students address me with a certain amount of respect. As we learned from writing and reading about micro aggressions, what we hear when we’re young matters the most. Tell me your scene. What is being said? What is the approximate location/age/race if it matters? The point is: YOU ARE AN ALLY, YOU WILL BE AN EFFECTIVE ALLY BY ADDRESSING THE MICROAGGRESION BY USING THE TIPS PROVIDED IN THE ARTICLE. If you want more guidance, feel free to choose one of the following examples. 1. You are at the park and overhear a group of middle-aged kids using the word “gay” or “retard” as a substitution for stupid or uncool. 2. You are out and some people appear to be flirting with each other. It could be two men, two women, a man and a woman. One non-Black person says flirtatiously, “You don’t sound or act like a Black person.”
