Locate one prevention program in your local community that addresses HIV/AIDS; you can locate this program through Internet research or by checking with local mental health agencies. The prevention program you select should address at least one of the following prevention topics: safe sex, needle exchange program, or prevention for pregnant mothers. Research the selected program and write a 750-1,000-word paper. The paper should address the following for your selected prevention program: A description of the program (e.g., who facilitates it, what is the targeted population) Information regarding the efficacy of the program Funding streams for the program (e.g., state, local, federal, and nonprofit) A description of how the prevention program could be a helpful resource to you, as the counselor, when working with clients A description of any educational prevention resources that are available to clients (e.g., pamphlets, seminars, prophylactics) A minimum of three scholarly sources to support your responses Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the GCU Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
