May 26, 2020Description: Students will select one empirical article out of the 3 provided articles. Students will then describe the findings and apply the findings to a population (age group, race/ethnicity, income bracket, health status) the student selects and describes. The ability to understand the practical or applicable importance of research is just as important as known the facts of the research findings. The paper should propel students to think about research in a different way: “What does this mean for real life people?” vs “What did it say?” Paper Guidelines: APA format (no abstract), 3-4 pages (not including a title page, reference page). Paper should cover the following questions: 1. What are the findings of the empirical article? 2. What are the describe characteristics of the population you selected and how they uniquely experience aging? 3. What is the practical significance of the article’s findings for your selected population? a. For example: Given your populations characteristics, would these findings influence their gaining process more or less than other populations? How would these findings inform interventions (physical health, psychology, social/relational) for this population? In-Text citation: • Use Semicolon if you use more than one citation/claim • Authorship order: not alphabetical order by last name, the order it appears on the article. 1st authorship, —pay attention the the authors’ order (last name of the author,xxx, &xxx, year; xxx &xxx, year), the second ot repeat the time—the first author’s last name et al., year.
