May 27, 2020Clear and convincing awareness is shown from different perspectives
May 27, 2020Purpose: For this Writing Project, you will use critical analysis to write well researched informative or argumentative essay. While you will be drawing from the research from WP1, feel free to use additional sources. Be sure to use the research to support your own original ideas. Course Learning Objectives: Rhetorical knowledge, development and critical thinking, organization, conventions of style and usage, documentation of sources Form / Design: For this project, you will write a minimum of 2,000 words using MLA or APA style. When you cite sources, be sure to use in text citations (parenthetic documentation). Also do not forget to include a Works Cited Page. See The Norton Field Guide or Purdue OWL for more support in formatting. Audience: Your tone, diction, word choice, and other rhetorical decisions will be determined by the audience you have in mind for your paper. You should consider your audience to be aware of and interested in your topic before they pick up your paper. Process work: Multiple drafts Peer Review Workshops You may revise your final draft one time after you receive a grade. Evidence: You will utilize primary and secondary sources in your paper. Your awareness of the reliability of sources as well as their “academic weight,” will determine the number of sources you’ll need. Be sure to back up your thesis and your main ideas with specific quotes and paraphrases from the texts you’ve researched. While a field source isn’t necessary, it is recommended. Grading Criteria: See rubric. Additional things I will look for: Interesting title Awareness of the chosen audience Credible resources Appropriate tone, style and formality Quotes properly written Clear thesis Consistency Solid facts Confident / passionate tone Fluidity Good transitions Clear and relevant examples As many paragraphs as you need. 🙂
