Your task for Discussion #1 is to develop a topic for a paper about the Las Vegas shooting and write an introduction, thesis and two body paragraphs. You can choose a question or issue on the previous page, OR you can create your own topic. Begin by READING ARTICLES, WATCHING VIDEOS and RESEARCHING the topic. Develop a Research Question that will become the topic of your paper. Your INTRODUCTION should have a strong THESIS that includes the NARROWED TOPIC you will cover, the SUBTOPICS you will write about (although you are not writing the entire paper) and the PURPOSE or REASON you are writing the paper. The two body paragraphs should have clear topic sentences. Quote from (Introduce first) at least TWO SOURCES in each paragraph. = NOTE Do this even if you are thinking about choosing the other topic.
