Hey so this is a “defense” essay I was thinking to go with this topic: “Racial discrimination for African living in America is at its worst peak” -2 to 3 pages long -need it by Wednesday -Choose a topic … -Identify issue that interests you -Consider the rhetorical situation -Generate ideas -State a strong thesis -Write two or three reasons that support your thesis -Browse the web and/ or an academic database like ProQuest for articles addressing the issue in your thesis* -Locate and record two opposing published opinions on your topic/ issue (save the citation info!) -Paraphrase (keep quotes to minimum) the opposing ideas fully and fairly -Create one sentence to refute each opposing idea Thank you
