Write a 1-2 page summary and reaction paper addressing the following: SUMMARIZE what you have read in the text using complete sentences and paragraph format (not a bulleted list). You might include several quotes, facts, or comments that were particularly compelling to you. Someone who hasn’t read the passage should have a good idea of what it was about after reading your summary. REACT to what you read. In other words, what did you think? Did you become interested enough to research any aspect further? What did you find out? Which parts of what you read interested you the most? Which parts taught you the most? Relate what you read to yourself in some way. How might the information be useful to you in your new career or how has it affected you in your life? Or how might the information be useful to you as a global citizen? I should learn something about you by reading your reaction. Don’t simply state that you liked it or didn’t like it. DESCRIBE the different sources of information on crime in the United States. How they are reported and where can those statistics can be found? Include in your paper the classifications and definitions of the major crimes outlined in the different reports (ie: NIBRS). You should use additional resources from the internet and journals or other writings to support your positions. Include an APA citation page for the sources you used.
