Travels in West Africa by Mary King subtopics: – how the women perceive the differences within their surroundings/society – how they relate to it, by being a black/white woman how is this relevant to the theme of travel? – by using the observation/scientific theme to describe the differences of how each woman both perceives and relays her experiences in Africa – speaking about the similarities of woman travellers – contrast of race in relation to their experiences.
