June 25, 2020Identify two to five problems that face your chosen not-for-profit company.
June 25, 2020The cybercrime section of the LAw Management and Enforcement (LAME) has received intel from INTERPOL’s Hacker Awareness and Management that, due to our information collection exercise that you participated in previously (which was detected as a threat), the hacker forums have moved onto The Onion Router (Tor) and are no longer available on the public Internet. You, as a local LAw Management and Enforcement Representative (LAMER), have been assigned to investigate this. Your mission is to collect intel on Tor and be ready to advise LAME as to the best course of action. As a starting point, download and experiment with the Tor browser. Your LAMER supervisors are not familiar with Tor and have a few concerns: Without joining Tor, how accurate can your location be determined by our top-secret service http://www.geolocation.com/ (Links to an external site.)? If you join Tor, how accurate is your location, according to http://www.geolocation.com/ (Links to an external site.)? If you disconnect and reconnect, what happens to your (apparent) location? Once you have established that Tor sufficiently anonymizes your location, please search for 5 working web-services inside Tor. Web-services are, in general, websites that are only accessible in Tor, and generally have a domain name that ends in .onion (rather than .com). You can conduct your search on the public-web for leads and access the site itself through Tor. For the Tor-based web-services that you find, comment on the type of activity on the web-service. Reporting Requirements: As your report, outline the searches you did, and what you found. Provide some thoughts or analysis on what your findings mean. Using screenshots or images as needed, along with point form analysis, indicating your thought process, creativity and logic. No need to be formal. Do not do a formal write-up. This is supposed to be an exercise, not a research paper.
