nIntroduction

nThe movie Watchmen is adapted from the comic book by Dave Gibbon and Allan Moore. Zack Snyder directs the comic film that describes the vigilante groups at a time when war is imminent between the Soviet Union and the United States during the cold war. The film is developed in an alternate history when the tensions between the two nations had escalated in 1985 (Snyder). The vigilantes comprised mainly the retired American veterans who initiate investigations following the assassination of one of their own prior to exposure an intricate and severe conspiracy. However, the complicated environment of the situation challenges their moral limitations (Prince 816). The Superheroes actions have been restricted due to Keene Act but their course of actions changes following the demise of The Comedian. He was a former commando and one of the powerful ex-hero whose controversial fall from the windows raises questions from these veterans.

nThe movie version by Zack Snyder of the innovative movie Watchmen is an extremely deranged film. In 1985, US president Richard Nixon was still the leader of the country. He has succeeded in passing outlawing the activities of the group. However, the assassination of the Comedian who is a mysterious vigilante serves to unite the members of the Watchmen once more (Prince 816). Initially, the squad served in the country in overseas wars especially in Vietnam. Their victory was facilitated by a remarkable superhero Dr Manhattan. He was a flaring-blue giant with superhuman powers and Blakean musculature to flex nature according to his wishes. In addition, he belongs to the group of Watchmen, which comprise of parted squad of superheroes including The Comedian, Rorschach, Nite Owl, Silk Spectre 2, and Ozymandias (Snyder). In fact, the Watchmen entail the second-generation offspring of the pre-war splendid team called The Minutemen with original personalities such as Nite Owl and Silk Spectre.

nDr Manhattan is a distinct character in the group because of his supernatural powers in the comic sense as his powers can force the universe to curl underneath his skin. Moreover, Ozymandias is depicted as the brightest person in the world while Nite Owl is an individual separated from life by his mysterious technology (Prince 817). Furthermore, Rorschach is a person who understands complicated patterns, which may occur in his mind while Silk Spectre II survives in challenging environment. The characters are dressed in conventional comic attires such as props, masks, belts, gloves, boots, and capes as well as other apparels that make them distinguishable (Snyder).

nThe clandestine demise of the Comedian appears to be a plan to do away with the world. The initial phase in the plan intends to conquer the Watchmen, who are the only powerful personalities that can provide sufficient resistance to the authorities (Snyder). It is difficult to determine how an individual would take advantage from the absolute annihilation of the planet. However, the film reminds the audience that in 1985, the world was facing serious danger from nuclear standoff between the Soviet Union and the United States that threatened the existence of humanity. Some of the actions of the leaders encouraged war (Prince 817). For instance, some of the cold warriors favoured to be dead instead of living in such circumstances.

nIn a celestial logic, it does not truly matter who caused the death of the Comedian after pushing him via the window. The Watchmen and their unique talents have the capacity to understand their weaknesses hence their powers are limited because only Dr Manhattan is not a human (Snyder). He lives outside space and time, and is explicably inaccessible from the fate of the world. Therefore, this type of dilemmas occupies all the Watchmen, and is illustrated in a movie experience of usually awesome beauty. The Watchmen concentrates on the conflict, which is shared concern among the superheroes (Prince 819). For instance, they could not live normal lives although they are destined to assist humankind. Their ability to carry out their duties with trademarked appliances and names reminds of the ancient Greece where personalities such Hades, Hermes and Zeus existed.

nThe magnitude of symbolism is winding away underneath all superheroes. What is interesting with Batman is his kindness notwithstanding his abilities he is not supernormal. The movie provides astonishing persuasion to these characters as minor gods and flawed (Snyder). For instance, Dr. Manhattan is holding the power of godhead on an airplane that separates him from normal concerns. In the movies most remarkable episode, he is expatriated to Mars, and in absolute separation reimagines himself as a human being and invokes an unbelievable city apparently made of mathematical principles and crystals. In his comparable 40 days in the wilderness, he comes back as a liberator (Prince 819).

In addition, he works as the hit man for persons such as Tricky Dickey (Snyder). He is also depicted as the second gangster on the verdant hill who participated in President Kennedy assassination in 1963. The structure is impressively convincing (Prince 820). Although he is a repulsive character, the immoralities of the Comedian are to be exceeded by the infuriated hubris within the destroyed ranks of the Watchmen group, the actions that might terminate the humankind itself.

nThe film Watchmen is very important in advancing the theme of American patriotism. The movie uses Ozymandias to terminate terror that is likely to take place in the country. In addition, the superheroes Ozymandias is an advanced person who positions himself above the common citizens as he regards himself to be a homo superior (Snyder). He also stages an intricate trick, a false foreign attack on New York City aiming to bring peace between world nations that had escalating tension. In the process, he succeeds in killing many persons as he thinks it would help in realizing his end goal. The other superheroes apart from Rorschach appear to agree on this result, explaining that it was for the good of the public (Prince 821). The film positions Ozymandias above humankind, validating the killing of many persons for a greater purpose. Rorschach understand that Ozymandias has contributed to the death of many people in New York and his teammates are intending to set him free for their own safety and greater good. Therefore, Rorschach is against such compromise. He desires to castigate the guilty while Ozymandias is determined to preserve the welfare of the innocent people albeit destructing the guiltless persons for the larger good (Snyder). In the film, Ozymandias and Rorschach represent a villain and hero, respectively.

nIn the final scenes of the scene depicts a conflict between Dr Manhattan versus Rorschach. The images of New York City crushed by attack by Ozymandias are intended to imply a nuclear strike. Manhattan is complicit in the strike from the commencement since his non-linear knowledge of time would have given him the opportunity to abolish it if he thought there is need (Snyder). In addition, he is responsible of destroying Rorschach when he moves down. Therefore, the main theme of the film Watchmen is that in a country or sphere where a single person can destroy the entire humankind, there is no chance for ethical principles. It is challenging to throw an individual down in the guise of justice (Prince 821). Destroying a city were aimed to get justice is terrible and ultimately leads to wrong. Rorschach asks the Dr Manhattan exterminate him because leaving complete morality is the appropriate ethical thing to do.

nThe film Watchmen by Zack Snyder is adapted from the comic book of Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore. It is an important movie, which depict the situation in the Cold War between Soviet Union and the Americans (Snyder). The movie begins after the assassination of one of the superheroes who are determined to uncover the assassin. However, their own revelation is curtailed by moral restriction due to complicated environment of the situations. Their actions turn out to be the saviour of the common good in the country. The actions of the Watchmen save the world from imminent destruction of the nuclear attack (Prince 822). Its key theme is against individualism but advances the common goal of all persons.
