nIntroduction
nStrategic management is useful for steering organizations of all types, as well as healthcare organizations. Health care organizations face many challenges in their delivery and maintenance of quality services as they operate in an environment that is dynamically and unpredictably changing. It is necessary for the health care organizations to embrace strategic management to counter the changing environment (DeCenzo, Robbins & Verhulst, 2010). This paper seeks to evaluate the rationale for healthcare organizations adopting strategic management.
nStrategic management helps the organizations draft new objectives to initiate changes so as to comply with external regulatory needs and satisfy their customers. Through strategic management the health care organizations set priorities, improve decision making, motivate and encourage health care workers to be active in their roles (DeCenzo, Robbins & Verhulst, 2010). Strategic management helps to promote organizational cohesion as it encourages commitment and participation of each and every worker to achieve the goals across all departments. It is essential for establishing an explicit and clear framework that has criteria for making managerial decisions (DeCenzo, Robbins & Verhulst, 2010).
nStrategic management reveals threats and opportunities that may have previously been hidden and provides a chance for the organizations to work on them on time. A health care organization that has implemented a good strategic management plan offers a credible and serious external image/reputation. The benefits of strategic management make it necessary that all health care organizations adopt it for sustenance and maintenance of smooth operations (DeCenzo, Robbins & Verhulst, 2010).
nConclusion
nHealth care entity is ever changing in todays world. Health care organizations have realized so and therefore embraced strategic management to steer them to the future. Strategic management gives the organizations flexibility to confront the future. Strategic management unites the entire health care entity under common ideals and goal leading to improved communication throughout the organizations (DeCenzo, Robbins & Verhulst, 2010).
