The objective of the assignment is to write a careful analysis of Lynn Peril’s Pink Think: Becoming a Woman in Many Uneasy Lessons (ISBN 978-0393323542).Your goal is to form a historical argument that answers the following question: How does the source enhance your understanding of the United States during the mid-twentieth century? (Keep in mind main themes and topics discussed in class and your readings) It is required to not only analyze the source, but to make connections to main themes and topics discussed in GIVE ME LIBERTY by Eric Foner (ISBN 978-0-39392031-4) in order to show a broad understanding of the historical period in question. A good paper will make comparative or contrasting references. Do not simply describe Peril’s Pink Think (ISBN 978-0393323542) in your essay. Instead, you should form your own argument about the book that demonstrates your understanding of U.S. history. In order to better understand the material, think critically about the following questions: 1. What is Pink Think? 2. What is Peril’s argument? 3. How does each chapter contribute to Peril’s argument? 4. What sources does Peril use to support her argument? 5. Do you agree or disagree with Peril’s views? Why or why not? 6.
