It will involve a critical reflection of your own area of practice that demonstrates a good understanding of the quality and clinical governance agenda and the factors that impact on its implementation. The following additional guidance should assist you in developing your essay: Content Specific 1. Identify a problem or issue in your own practice context that requires improvement. This will form the basis for proposing and planning how to lead and manage a practice-based quality improvement change 2. Analyse the importance of the quality improvement in contributing to the goal of achieving high quality, safe, effective and person-centred care in the area in which you work, and how this fits with the local/national agenda, activities and structures 3. Provide a discussion that outlines how you would plan to implement your quality improvement. As part of this plan you should clearly identify and justify your role/contribution in taking forward the improvement (*the use of 1st person is only acceptable within this section) 4. Identify and critically discuss the key issues you would need to consider in the implementation of the quality improvement within your own workplace, and how you would overcome any challenges associated with them. You may consider issues such as leadership, change management, culture, or any other relevant areas from the module.
