June 23, 2020Every two years we go to the polls and vote for legislators who representative us at the federal and state levels. Do you know who these legislators are? Do you keep track of their work? After all, they do work for you! Yes, you have people! The objective of this assignment is for you to find your California State legislators in the State Assembly and Senate, your legislator in the U.S. House of Representative and find out what they are doing on your behalf. Enter your zip code in upper left hand corner under “Find Your Representative.” Go to your Representative’s website and answer the following questions: What district do you live in? What is the name of your Representative? What is their political party? How long have they been in office? Provide one (1) interesting or new thing you learned about the rep for your district. E.g., a piece of legislature they are working on or a committee they sit on. Minimum two (2) paragraphs. A paragraph has a least five (5) sentences. Part II California State Representatives (20 pts.) If you come up with two districts, for the same legislator you need to search by address not zip code. Please note that you may live in a district that is has a temporary vacancy.
