Graduate students are required to submit a paper. The paper should be five pages of text excluding the bibliography. You are expected to have at least 10 different references in the paper with at least five from academic journals, government reports, or reports coming from think tanks centers, etc. you cannot use materials referenced in the book. You are to use the APA style of referencing. These papers are to be sent to the instructor via regular e-mail. Ensure that you retain a copy of your paper and you advise that it is your CJUS555 Term Paper in the Subject of your e-mail to me. You are to pick a very specific topic and drill down on it. Global discussions of issues do not cut it. I expect in-depth research on your topic. Since homeland security and many aspects of it are evolving fairly rapidly, I expect you to go beyond the book. Do not wait until the last minute to start this assignment. Grading: The paper will be graded minus, zero, or plus. If you receive a plus, your grade will be increased by one partial letter grade, e.g. if you had a B and received a plus, your final grade would be a B+. Similarly, if you received a minus, your B would go to a B-. A zero means your grade is unchanged.
