March 8, 2023As a People4hange Advisor or Inspirator, how do you see your role in operationalisation of ActionAid’s HRBA Framework, designing programmes and ensuring the effective implementation of the programmes to deliver the Key Change Promises. What challenges do you envisage that may hinder your work in the areas above and how do you intend to handle the challenges. Please, write Not less than ONE page and Not more than TWO pages
nAs a People4Change Inspirator, my role in the operationalization of the ActionAid HRBA Framework will be participating in the implementation of HRBA components which include empowerment, campaigning and solidarity work. In this respect, I will use the framework to empower a group, especially poor women and excluded people to know and fight for their rights. In addition, I will help them to hold accountable persons in the positions of authority, who are responsible for delivering these rights. As an Inspirator I believe that I will also participate in building a team to expand and defend their rights over a particular period. Furthermore, I my role as an Inspirator will involve inspiring the poor people to become agents of change in claiming and defending their rights. The HBRA framework will also play a crucial role in helping me to train the community members on how to challenge unjust and inequities in the society. Most importantly, I will use the HBRA framework in helping women to have confidence in identifying and claiming their rights. Similarly, I will play a role in building the capacity of women’s organization living in poverty. I will also use the ActionAid HRBA to help the community to challenge the dominant forces that undermine the rights of the poor.
nAs an Inspirator, I will also participate in designing programmes and ensuring the effective implementation of the programmes to deliver the Key Change Promises. In this regard, I will be engaged in the process of Appraisal, Strategy Development and Planning, monitoring during Implementations and Evaluation. Essentially, I expect I will play a role in determining the feasibility and the value of HRBA interventions based on political, technical and financial considerations. Secondly, I will plan for actions that will help the poor communities and excluded groups to understand their rights. I will also build strategies that will inspire the groups. Moreover, I will also use the theory of change to monitor the progress of ongoing projects, hence I will be able to determine the impacts of the projects.
nHowever, I anticipate to encounter the challenge of lack of awareness among the community members. Consequently, I will use the forums and meeting to sensitize and create awareness among the groups on their human rights. In addition, I expect to encounter the challenge of women unwilling to participate in our programmes because they do not have a right over decision making in the household. To solve this problem I will train and encourage them on how to engage their husband to respect and protect their rights.
