May 19, 2020You are required to submit a 2,500 word, Harvard-referenced essay, which includes a bibliography of at least 15 sources. Your essay must have a question that relates to the lecture material from this year. You can either write your own essay question or use one of the questions we have written as a group in the seminars this year. Your essay must contain critical ideas cited from academic texts (books, journal articles). Try to explain the ideas in these texts in your own words, and explain how they relate to the question. You should select relevant quotes from these texts and discuss their meaning in your own words. You should also select and discuss one or more examples of buildings or spaces to help you explore the question. Your essay should be accompanied by images, which you refer to in your essay in order to make your explanation clearer. If you are talking about a building, there should be an image of this building in the text so the reader knows what you are talking about. You should refer to this image – what can you see in the image, how does it relate to your discussion? Please do not use images just simply as decoration: if you don’t discuss them in your argument in detail they should not be there. The essay must contain a list of references, which contains all the books and articles you mention in your essay. Your essay should also contain a bibliography which contains all the sources from your list of references AND any others that you read during your research but did not mention in your essay. For example, you might have read 15 sources, but only mention 11 of them in your essay – the full 15 would go in your bibliography, with the 11 going in your list of references. – How did space travel and a changed perspective on the world shape architecture in the 1960s and 70s?
