In comparing Mother Teresa, Bill Gates, and Norman Borlaug, Pinker notices that our perception of which of the three is most moral is based on the level of their popularity and what behavior they are most well-known for, “distracting us from a more objective reckoning of the actions.” Think about examples of people you know and who enjoy or suffer a label of an exceptionally moral or amoral person and think of reasons why this happened and in what ways these labels might not reflect reality.
