June 29, 2020Explain why Why Great Leaders Don’t Take Yes for an Answer
June 29, 2020The student chooses a “leader” or a person he considers to be a leader and reflects on this person’s role in the context of leadership theory. An intended by-product of this assignment is that students will be asked to develop their personal perception and critical approach to the chosen leader and highlight the most important aspects of his/her personality and achievements. Leadership theory provides a context for discussion and reflection on the realities of leadership experience. A combination of theory and an engaged reflection around their personal experiences, students will be asked to develop a personal development plan of leadership and develop it within that framework. Students are expected to focus also on skills and knowledge of a leader and focus around topics such as ethical decision-making, gender, team building, strategies, and group roles and culture as evidenced by the chosen leader. Reference should be made to at least two academic models theories of leadership which can be used to assist the students’ explanation of why he/she has chosen this particular leader. It is also expected that the Reference List will contain between fifteen to twenty sources. As a Minimum the Reference List should include four refereed academic journals and five academic books.
